Hydroexcavation
Hydroexcavation is a process used to safely expose underground utilities without damaging them. Pressurized water loosens dirt, and vacuum trucks deliver powerful suction to remove the debris and expose pipes, gas lines, fiber-optic lines, and other components of underground utilities.
How it Works

When sewer, stormwater, gas, fiber, electrical, or water system assets are in unknown locations, excavation needs to be much softer and less destructive than traditional methods to avoid critical damage, injuries, expensive repairs, and other serious issues. Hydroexcavation is a proven method for safely locating and exposing underground infrastructure.

CES uses hydroexcavation to spray high-pressure water to loosen the ground without damaging important utilities. Simultaneously, our crews use high-power vacuum trucks throughout the process to ensure we remove the debris and can see the pipes clearly.

Data That Drives Informed Decisions

Every hydroexcavation project provides valuable information. CES delivers accurate field data on the location and condition of underground infrastructure, helping clients know where their utilities are located, update records, and ultimately reduce risks on upcoming or future projects.

When paired with our inspection, GIS, and asset management services, hydroexcavation becomes more than just a safe excavation method. It becomes an invaluable tool for building a complete, reliable picture of your underground infrastructure.
