Qualifications

CES is seeking technicians skilled or willing to be trained in the areas of smoke testing, manhole inspections, high-pressure cleaning, data analysis, CCTV, flow monitoring, sonar, lead service line inventory, GPS, and GIS.


  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 18 years or older with a good driving record
  • CDL license with trucker endorsements preferred
  • Must be able to travel overnight

  • Data Management Technician

    Daily Tasks:


    • Defect code, review videos and all data, and QA/QC all data to deliver the best report possible per the contract specifications (yes, we’ll explain what that means!)
    • Report directly to the Data Management Coordinator
    • Track project completeness
    • Update project maps
    • Compare field work reports to data received
    • Other tasks determined to be essential in successfully managing data for CES’s many projects

    Requirements for Applicants:


    • High School Diploma, GED, or greater
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office with a focus on Access and Excel, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Windows File Explorer to navigate and manage complex folder structures
    • GIS experience is a huge plus
    • Must be methodical, organized, and detail-oriented
    • Time management skills and ability to adhere to project deadlines

  • CCTV Operators

    CCTV Operators are considered leaders of the crew. One must be proficient in the capabilities and responsibilities of both Helpers and Jet-Vac Operators as well as the qualifications below:


    • Focus on safety while working productively
    • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications
    • Strong time management skills
    • Ability to manage 2 -4 other employees
    • NASSCO certification in PACP, MACP and LACP (or willingness to obtain)

  • Jet Vac Operators

    Jet Vac Operators have a great responsibility for workplace safety and maintaining their equipment. This is an extremely vital position within CES crews.


    • Focus on work safety and wearing PPE
    • Class B CDL with Tanker & Air Brake Endorsements required
    • Operate the high-pressure water system
    • Operate a Positive Displacement Vacuum system

  • Helpers

    Helpers will assist in the inspection and cleaning of sewer and storm drain pipes.


    Daily Tasks:

    • Safely opening and closing manholes
    • Lowering equipment into manholes
    • Measuring depths of manholes
    • Measuring distance between manholes
    • Taking GPS coordinates of manholes

    Requirements:

    • No experience needed
    • On-the-job training provided

  • Utility Inspection Technicians

    Applicants are applying to work on the CES Special Projects Crew. Most training will be done on the job. Special skills that are beneficial include utility locating and taking GPS points.


    Daily Tasks:

    • Identifying and locating underground utilities
    • Collecting GPS coordinates of various points of interest
    • Operating robotic cameras to inspect underground utilities (CCTV)
    • Operating high-pressure cleaning equipment to clean pipes

    Requirements:

    • Clean driving record
    • Reliable transportation
    • Willing to travel up to 2 weeks at a time (travel & per diem provided)
    • Ability to lift 75 lbs
    • Basic computer skills (Excel & Word)
