A Preventive Maintenance and Asset Management Program (PM/AM) is a cooperative endeavor between the public and private sectors that provides a team approach to addressing and managing complex wastewater maintenance and asset management functions. It is a strong proactive regulatory compliance structure, designed to greatly reduce the risk of EPA compliance orders, and ultimately reduce reactive operation and maintenance costs and capital expenditures due to collection system infrastructure failures. These programs are designed by individual community needs to improve overall operations efficiency and will result in improved community health and reduction of environmental concerns by controlling dry and wet weather sanitary sewer overflows (SSOs). A wide variety of tasks and services are implemented under a PM/AM program. These are tailored to the client’s needs. PM/AM programs are effective, powerful tools for communities which are currently, or will be in the near future, faced with environmental compliance issues. Back
